2010-11 Columbus Blue Jackets
The 2010/11 Blue Jackets will have more than a look of familiarity to their defensive squad which was the 4th worst in the NHL last season. Unless the GM can swing some kind of trade, the team will feature the exact squad of defensemen that struggled so mightily last season.
The team managed to claim LW Ethan Moreau off waivers and signed free agents Ben Guite, Gustaff Wesslau, Kyle Wilson, Nate Guenin and David LeNeveu, while the team lost three players to free agency; Nathan Paetsch, Greg Moore and Mathieu Roy.
The team will be working in a new full staff of coaches after hiring Scott Arniel in June of 2010 as the new Blue Jackets head man. He and his new assistants Brad Berry, Bob Boughner, and Dan Hinote will undergo a coaching summit held by Arniel in August in an effort to get everyone on the same page.
